Windows OS Update Steps


  1. Open Settings:
    • Click the Start menu (Windows icon) in the lower left corner of your screen.
    • Select "Settings" (gear icon).
  2. Navigate to Update & Security:
    • In the Settings window, click on "Update & Security."
  3. Check for Updates:
    • In the Update & Security window, click "Check for updates."
    • Windows will automatically check for available updates.
  4. Install Updates:
    • If updates are available, they will be listed. Click "Download and install" to start the process.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. You may need to restart your computer to finish the update.
  5. Automatic Updates (Optional):
    • To enable automatic updates, go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update."
    • Click "Advanced options."
    • Under "Update options," turn on the switch for "Receive updates for other Microsoft products when you update Windows."
    • You can also configure other update settings, such as the active hours during which updates should not automatically restart your device.
